International Racing Brings the 2019 Season to a Close
Navy Crew rowed in three regattas to bring the 2019 season to a close.

The 2019 Henley Royal Regatta included the return of the The King’s Cup — but as a mixed 8(+) event — in order to commemorate the centennial of the 1919 Royal Henley Peace Regatta, which was raced by armed service crews from the WWI allied nations of Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. A list of allied nation entries, race results, and boatings in the 1919 Royal Henley Regatta can be viewed here.

In the 2019 Henley Royal Regatta, armed service entries from the original six nations were joined by armed service entries from Germany and the Netherlands in The King’s Cup event. Rowers from Navy’s lightweight, heavyweight, and women’s crews represented the United States as the United States Armed Forces (USAF) crew rowing a mixed 8(+).

Separately, entered as crews representing the U. S. Naval Academy were a M4(+) in The Prince Albert Challenge Cup; a M2(-) in The Silver Goblets and Nickalls’ Challenge Cup; and a W2(-) in The Hambleden Pairs Challenge Cup.

Henley Women’s Regatta and Marlow Regatta
Leading up to the Henley Royal Regatta Navy’s men and women also competed in two separate regattas representing the United States Naval Academy. The women rowed a 4(-) in the Henley Women’s Regatta, and the men rowed an 8(+) and 4(+) in the Marlow Regatta.

Information about the 2019 Henley Royal Regatta as well as race results for all regattas can be viewed here.
